TESOL: Training for Trainers

Through this course, participants will take time to reflect on their current or would-be program through several key tasks and discussion boards in an online community, take action to boost their program's profile and, most importantly, transform current programs using technology.

Participants will be introduced to several free online resources to help enhance their English language teacher training program. Participants will also create an extensive resource guide or module that they can further customize after the course. This program is appropriate for both experienced English language teachers starting their journey in teacher education, as well as seasoned educators looking to add to their repertoire of practical ideas and strengthen their theoretical knowledge.

About the Instructor

Ksan Rubadeau

Ksan Rubadeau (Ed.D. Durham University, UK; M.A. Applied Linguistics, Concordia University, Montreal) has had the joy of being an ESOL educator and teacher trainer for 20 years, working in Canada, Mexico, Japan, and South Korea. Over the past thirteen years, she has developed and facilitated development courses for elementary and secondary English language teachers in South Korea and for professors learning to teach English-mediated courses. Subjects have ranged from general TESOL methodology and course planning to advanced classes in pedagogical grammar and mentoring techniques. Dr. Rubadeau has served in several positions of Korea TESOL (KOTESOL) and is an award-winning professor at the Institute of Foreign Language Studies, Korea University, Seoul. Her research focuses on teacher educators’ cognitions and practices in relation to technologies.
