TESOL Joins Over 180 Organizations in Call for Bipartisan Immigration Reform in the United States

In a statement published today in the New York Times, TESOL International Association joined more than 180 organizations, associations, companies, and leaders came together to call for bipartisan leadership to overhaul of an outdated immigration system, prioritizing a pathway to citizenship for “Dreamers” brought to the United States as children.

The signatories represent a broad group of businesses, faith, law enforcement, civic, and other organizations and leaders. 

“We can create a modern, humane and effective immigration system that upholds the best of America’s promise: to be a nation where people can come from around the world to work, contribute and build a better life for themselves, their families, and our society as a whole,” the statement reads. “As we recover from COVID-19, the essential contributions of immigrants here today, and to come tomorrow, will be critical to the health and well-being of American workers and their families.”
