General Guidelines
The TESOL community includes teachers, researchers, administrators, materials developers, and other professionals working in all contexts around the world, as well as in related disciplines. Our convention presentations echo this broad diversity of professional interests. Presentations are grouped into thematic content strands and identified by target audience, context, and setting. As you consider presentation ideas, you may find it helpful to refer to past accepted presentations and successful proposals.
Proposal Requirements
- Proposals must be submitted through the abstract management system by 5 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time on 3 June 2024. Proposals may not be edited after the submission deadline.
- To allow for blind review, the proposal title, abstract, and description may not include information that identifies the presenter(s), including names and affiliated institutions.
- For proposals with multiple presenters, all presenters must agree to participate prior to the submission of a proposal.
- Proposals that promote commercial interests will be disqualified.
- A presenter may submit multiple proposals, but each proposal must be submitted individually and represent a separate presentation. A single or substantially similar proposal may not be submitted to multiple strands.
Grounds for Disqualification
A proposal will be disqualified if:
- it is submitted after the deadline;
- it is not submitted electronically through the abstract management system;
- it is incomplete or completed without following the guidelines in the call for proposals;
- it includes the presenter(s) or organizer(s) name(s) or institution(s) in the title, abstract, or description;
- it contains plagiarized content;
- it or a similar proposal is submitted to multiple strands; or
- it promotes a commercial interest.
